A Unique Project
Inspired by the excellence of the legendary Italian Renaissance violin making tradition, the Stradivari speaker is a testament to Sonus faber’s dedication to innovation and ingenuity. In the eighteen century the violin making tradition evolved, challenging the classical rules and enlarging the instrument’s shape to create a unique tone. Likewise, the Stradivari speaker seamlessly blends Sonus faber’s design and engineering philosophy to produce an unparalleled soundstage.
Innovation
Stradivari has undergone a striking transformation from its original elliptical shape to a bold pentagonal structure, designed to accommodate the latest advancements in audio technology and ensure a one-of-a-kind listening experience. One of the most distinctive features of the Stradivari is its approach to low-frequency management. Its innovative engineering allows the listener to adjust the woofers to the size of the room, creating a bespoke sound experience.
Design
Stradivari represents a meticulous reinterpretation of one of the most recognizable loudspeakers in the history of high fidelity.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the Stradivari’s impeccable finish elevates its design to new heights. The Stradivari’s construction follows the same handmade processes that are applied to the most important musical instruments, ensuring a truly exceptional audio experience.
Tripod DAD
The patented technology for managing oscilations of the silk dome of the tweeter rediscovers the tripod structure with Stradivari. Greater high frequency dispersion and control even at higher volumes.
Intono
Thanks to the study of the resonant cavities and the creation of a calibrated drilling of the midrange acoustic chamber, the intono technology guarantees the most natural possible reporduction of the medium frequencies. The energy of the air spring generated by the movement of the speaker is channeled and reduced by the Intono duct, significantly reducing the size and the filter components of the crossover.
Phase Plug
The Phase Plug, which completes the project of this new midrange by sonus faber, has a dual purpose: to minimise, thanks to its Damping Ring, the turbulence triggered by the movement of the coil and to favour the dispersion by mechanically correcting the resonances in high frequency of the paper cone. The result obtained is that of a mechanically acting acoustic filter, which translates into a simplification of the passive crossover scheme.
Organic Basket
Thanks to its organic shape, the new Stradivari woofer basked, entirely designed by the Sonus Faber team, is characterised by a unique geometry. Its asymmetrical structure actson the vibration modes generated by the loudspeaker membrane, making the basket anti-resonant. A projecr that has been able to merge the mechanical and the aesthetic result. The organic imprint is at the origin of the inspiration of this technical element, fully aligning itself with the Natural Sound philosophy of each Sonos Faber product.
Phase Coherent Crossover
The IFF topology, combined with the “Phase Coherent” philosophy offers the listener an immersive listening experience, thanks to the three-dimensional perception of the music elements within the sound stage. All the components of the passive filter have been carefully chosen, selected and sied by the Sonus Faber R&D team: the result is sound reproduction without distortion even at very high listening levels.
Clepsydra Technology – Down Firing Feature
The reflex system used combines a new hourglass geometry, aimed at maximising the low frequency descent performance and at the same time containing the length of the duct, together with a downfiring emission which guarantees maximum freedom of positioning in the room. The non-parallel walls within the acoustic chamber of the woofers prevent the formation of standing waves above the tuned frequencies. The use of this technology is the result of careful simulations and adaptations developed by the Sonus Faber team with the sole aim of reaching the highest technical levels at the service of sound reproduction.
Low Frequency Adjuster
The LFA system, or Low Frequency Adjust, offers full control of the ultra-low range tuning, for an unprecendented sound experience and an optimisation of the room response without compromises. A solution with an elegant design, descigned to obtain the least invasive result possible, to intervene quickly and functionally, integrating perfectly within the design. The LFA technology is inspired by the compensation of the resonance peak of the driver in the cabinet to be able to ovtain a damping of the low range withut introducing resistive elements in series with the signal. On the board adjacent to the binding posts, a four-pin system has been created: one common and three peripherals that are connected to the central unit with a jumper, where each of the three possible composition positions allows you to set a different low frequency response.
