Announcing Omnia, Sonus Faber’s new premium wireless speaker providing the famous sonic qualities of Sonus Faber in an all-in-one smart speaker with wireless streaming capabilities & HDMI ARC built-in. Combining Sonus faber’s Italian heritage and design expertise, the Omnia wireless system enhances the listening experience with a suite of features allowing users to connect a variety of media with Sonus faber’s signature natural sound.

The system is equipped with two new trademarked technologies: SENSO and CRESCENDO. The touch sensitive SENSO interface permits users to directly control Omnia and easily connect to any digital or analog source, including their television, turntable, or mobile device. The illuminated lines on the top SENSO panel further indicate the speakers’ mode, input, and volume. The new CRESCENDO technology is an advanced signal processing system resulting in a greater sense of dimensionality and immersivity, cleverly utilizing the two full range side speakers.

Omnia supports the latest streaming technologies and is Turntable Ready (MM), further offering seamless playback from mobile devices with integrated Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, and Chromecast built in. An HDMI ARC input is also included to enhance television sound with one direct connection.

The iconic Rega Planar 3

Rega has pioneered the use of lightweight rigid plinths. Clever use of lightweight particulate core with a highly rigid phenolic resin skin became the foundations of the high level of performance achieved by the now iconic original Planar range.

The new Planar 3 takes this design philosophy to the next level. A lightweight acrylic laminated plinth strengthened using a new improved double brace system mounted specifically where the increased rigidity is required (between the tonearm mounting and the main hub bearing) which forms a structurally sound “stressed beam” assembly. This rigid plinth design prevents energy absorption and unwanted resonance, which will add unnatural distortions to the music. Equally, heavier mass can transfer more unwanted energy, such as motor or bearing noise directly into the rotating record. The use of braces instead of the complete skin allows double thickness phenolic resin in these key areas while providing further weight reduction to the plinth which directly addresses the issue of mass absorption and unwanted energy transmission.
